Real stories are more persuasive than theory, and more useful. Each implementation below is being documented with the educators who did the work — including the parts that were difficult and the things they would do differently.
How these are written
We would rather publish a small number of honest accounts than a large number of promotional ones. Each case study is written with the educators involved, reviewed by them before publication, and includes what did not work. That takes time, which is why this section grows slowly.

Delmar High School
The most complete FILL implementation to date, and the source of most of the framework's practical detail. The case study covers how the shift to proficiency-based progression started, what it required of the department, and what proved hardest to sustain.

Work extending beyond a single building, examining what changes when competency-based structures are considered across schools rather than within one classroom.
